Hulu + iPad = Moolah according to Peter Kafka

Peter Kafka over at All Things Digital has a great article about the potential of Hulu, a web based television channel owned by GE’s NBC Universal, News Corp.’s Fox and Disney’s ABC, to charge a premium for the Hulu content on the iPad. The article says that finding a pay model for the iPad aint easy;

All the sources I talked to cautioned that Hulu and its owners had yet to agree on a definitive plan for a premium service. And this needs to be resolved before they can tackle device-specific issues.

“It’s a tricky balancing act that we’re trying to fine-tune before we go out,” one source tells me. “Everyone’s concerned about making a strong offering at a good price, and not undercutting the existing business.”

When they do figure it out, I’m going to pour myself a large celebratory bourbon. On the heels of the piece I wrote over at the APA about how the ipad the will save editorial photography I see the iPad, which is a sexy revamp of a mobile computing class that has been around for years, as chance to converge quality content with reasonable recompense for creators.
