Chicks Rule This Week, Laura Crosta With Another Music Video
One of our favorite directors, Laura Crosta, is out with a new music video that’s being featured on MTV’s Hive this week. Rachael Yamagata’s Starlight is being heralded as a transition piece for Yamagata in which critics are starting to consider her in the same ranks as PJ Harvey.
Crosta comfortably saunters between vintage imagery and actual footage with a confident swagger that makes the transitions seamless and valid to her narrative. She avoids cliche’ and keeps the viewer wrapped up in the world of the song.
I did an interview with Crosta a few months ago about her transition from photographer to director. By the looks of the motion work she’s be doing lately, I guess that transition worked out pretty well for her.
