The Explanation for Quantum of Solace from Daniel Craig

Time Out London has a fantastic interview with Daniel Craig. In it he talks about “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, the reason for “Quantum of Solace” and the upcoming Bond movie “SkyFall.”

We had the bare bones of a script and then there was a writers’ strike and there was nothing we could do. We couldn’t employ a writer to finish it. I say to myself, “Never again”, but who knows? There was me trying to rewrite scenes – and a writer I am not.’

Quantum was a huge disappointment for me especially after the excellent Casino Royale. Now that I know the reason for the weak story, I can let it go down the river and look forward to Skyfall.
