Day of the Dead Halloween GIF

October 31, 2012 by Photography

Enjoy this Día de los Muertos Sugar Mask GIF that I shot at a recent APA-LA seminar where I was speaking about hybrid motion photography. It was shot on a Canon 7D with a Zeis CP.2 lens and lit by a Joker HMI using a Big Eye fresnel modifier. Fill light was provided by a Westcott Spiderlite TD6. The model is the lovely Renee Olivier and the great makeup was done by Vanessa Marie. Edited in Adobe CS6 Photoshop and After Effects was used to stabilize the motion around the eyes. I like my motion GIFs subtle so if you miss the action just click on the image to load it into it’s own browser window where you can refresh the page to watch the creepy movement.

Why, hello there.

This is PhotoCine News. The definitive blog about the collision between filmmaking and photography. It was started in 2010 by Michael Britt and Lou Lesko the same people who created the PhotoCine Expo.

PCN had a fantastic run for about three and half years. Now it remains as an archive for the internet though the generosity of BlinkBid Software. The industry standard software for bidding, producing, and invoicing photography and motion gigs.

Have a fabulous day.
