Snehal Patel is a filmmaker and instructor here in Hollywood who taught at the PhotoCine Expo and is on our DVD set. He’s a great teacher whose students have nothing but praise for him. Snehal will be leading a hands on workshop with the AG-AF100 on February 26th at Stray Angel Films here in Los Angeles. This year at NAB, Panasonic unveiled a carved wood block prototype of the AG-AF100, their new micro four thirds video camera. What’s exciting about this camera is that Panasonic has created the first large sensor video camera with interchangeable lenses. The film look from micro four thirds cameras and other HDSLRs is achieved because of the large sensor combined with good fast lenses. By putting that system into a video camera form factor, Panasonic eliminates a lot of the problems inherent in shooting video with DSLRs (or EVILs) including platform ergonomics, run time/overheating and sound recording options.
