Why We’re Going Dark Tomorrow

Tomorrow this site will go dark as an act of solidarity with many other websites that will be doing the same to protest the horrendous anti piracy bills, Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act (PIPA), that are currently trying to get passage in congress. SOPA is Shelved But PIPA Remains

Steve Benen of Washington Monthly reports that SOPA has been shelved.

House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said early Saturday morning that Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) promised him the House will not vote on the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) unless there is consensus on the bill.

This is great news.

Contact Your Congressman or Senator and Help Us Stop Censorship

If you care about the internet and the freedoms and opportunities that it offers, then I urge you to contact you state representatives and tell them to stop the internet blacklist legislation. The legislation is backed primarily by the entertainment industry and is a complete disaster of a bill. To help you understand the bill we’ve got an info-graphic and a video below. Contacting your state representatives can be done easily by using the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s action page.

Michael and I are firmly against this bill and feel very strongly that it will radically impede the growth of the micro movie production genre and the internet as a whole. Please act now to stop this absurd, corporate entertainment driven bill.
